POSITION SUMMARY :
The Inn at Pound Ridge is seeking friendly, outgoing, and organized individuals to join our team as Food Runners. The food runner position is vital to the service team, being responsible for ensuring that all food orders are delivered promptly and accurately from the kitchen to our guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivers food orders to the correct table in a timely manner. Assists the server as necessary to ensure that the guest is served immediatelyEnsure the work area is well stocked, and maintain the cleanliness of the workspace throughout the shiftMaintain dining ambiance with an enthusiastic and graceful attitudeDemonstrate expert knowledge of all menu items, as well as daily specialsActively participate during lineupMaintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during, and after serviceComplete all assigned side work as assigned by managementFollow all company policies, procedures, and guidelinesConsistently report to scheduled shifts on time and ready to work in proper uniformOperate ethically to protect the assets and image of the companyPerforms other duties and responsibilities as per business needKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
Must have 2-4 years of restaurant experience; fine dining preferredA passion for food, wine and serviceA strong sense of urgencyStrong organization skillsA desire to provide unsurpassed hospitalityStrong communication skillsKnowledge of tableside etiquetteA desire for growthHave long-term goals in the service industryA rigorous attention to detailAbility to take direction and executeHigh standards for cleanliness of workspace and service areasProfessional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed guest's expectationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or quantitative productivity standards.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb steps regularly.Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach / extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.COMPENSATION :
The base pay range for this position is paid a minimum wage and a tip credit is taken when applicable. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history / job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
