We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant / AP Specialist to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This contract position requires an experienced and detail-oriented individual to support critical financial operations and ensure compliance with government accounting standards. The role is on-site, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on precision and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support ongoing financial operations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with the implementation and setup of eFAACT (or equivalent government accounting system).
- Collaborate with external auditors (currently CRI) during financial review processes.
- Manage or support accounting classifications, entries, and reconciliations with a focus on DCAA standards .
- Provide high-level support across multiple accounting functions to help relieve workload bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants to ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
Preferred Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a government contracting environment .Strong understanding of DCAA compliance and government cost accounting standards.Experience with eFAACT or similar government-compliant ERP / accounting systems.Ability to work independently and manage priorities under pressure.Familiarity with audit support and project accounting.Strong Excel and general ledger experience.Additional Notes :
The role must be performed on-site due to government hardware / security protocols.A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a government contracting environment.Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management.Proficiency in journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounts payable processes.Familiarity with government compliance standards and cost accounting practices.Experience with government-compliant accounting systems, such as eFAACT.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform under pressure.Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) is preferred but not required.
