Description :
Travelers' permanent addresses must be greater than 100 miles from the most central facility to be eligible to apply.
The position involves working in a fast-paced electrophysiology lab with Radiologic Technologists scrubbing 80% of the cases.
The average number of cases per day across procedural labs is 20.
The Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Electrophysiologist for non-invasive and invasive procedures.
Knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, arrhythmia monitoring, cardiac structures, and the anatomy of the heart chambers is necessary.
The Technologist must be familiar with sterile techniques.
They should also be capable of scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and sterile technique is essential.
The role includes assisting with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures.
Experience with various imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound, is required.
Competence in assisting Neuro Interventional Radiologists for diagnostic and interventional procedures is necessary.
Understanding cerebral angiogram coiling, avascular malformations, stroke interventions, and sterile techniques is vital.
Daily responsibilities will include performing procedures related to arrhythmia, such as pacemaker implants and atrial fibrillation ablations.
Candidates must demonstrate experience in interpreting dysrhythmias and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
The Technologist is expected to maintain a sterile field and adhere to isolation precautions.
Key skills required include cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and insertion / programming of AICDs and pacemakers.
The average daily census in the lab will reflect a patient population primarily consisting of adults and geriatrics.
