We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Burlington, Washington. This Contract position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in accounting practices and a strong ability to manage financial operations effectively. Responsibilities :
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Maintain and update the general ledger and chart of accounts to ensure accurate tracking of financial data.
- Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Analyze financial data and assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
- Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local government regulations.
- Utilize Springbrook software to manage accounting functions and streamline processes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve financial procedures and reporting.
- Address inquiries and provide support related to accounting operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a government setting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, with Springbrook experience being a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle month-end close processes and budget preparation.
- Experience with VLOOKUPs and other advanced Excel functions.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
