My name is Scott. I own Jay And Deans Auto Repair in Sarasota, FL and I just want to be real with you for a minute.

I know what it is like to feel unappreciated as a great technician. I know how it feels to not have my voice heard. To work with broken or no shop tools. To feel like nothing I do matters. I was that employee for a long time.

I bought Jay And Deans General Automotive Repair at the end of the pandemic and wanted to create a shop environment where everyone was appreciated. From that moment, I vowed to change the industry. To treat everyone that worked at my shop with respect. To make sure we supply the proper tools and pass on the knowledge needed to help the tech get the job done. Most importantly, to always show appreciation and be the place EVERYONE wanted to work at.

Are we perfect? No. I'm only human too but I do my best to divide my time and give my time when I can and I believe we are a heck of a lot better than most. My plan is to be one of, if not the fastest growing shop in Sarasota. Since taking over, we have seen 100% growth and am looking to increase those numbers by a third over this next year. I am looking for those who want to grow with us and share what you have learned through your unique journey. We need to add experienced automotive technicians to keep up with this growth.

Responsibilities :

• Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, and suspension or steering issues.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any potential issues or safety concerns.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
• Perform necessary repairs and replacements of parts, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns and explaining repairs or maintenance needed.
• Keep accurate records of all services performed on vehicles.

Skills :

• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required in the automotive repair process.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot complex vehicle problems.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair of vehicles.
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and explain repairs or maintenance needed.
