Assistant Professor, Library and Information Science

The Morgridge College of Education (MCE) at the University of Denver (DU) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Library and Information Science (LIS) program. We seek a candidate with knowledge of the library and information science field, committed to engaged scholarship and inclusive pedagogy, and contributing to DU’s mission of public good.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach and advise Master’s LIS students in our online and onsite programs. The ALA-accredited MLIS program enrolls over 250 students and offers onsite and online program options.

Essential Functions

• Pursue a strong research agenda grounded in Library and Information Science and related fields.
• Teach the equivalent of two courses per quarter each academic year (18-20 credits), including courses in the LIS in-person and online programs.
• Teach one or more core courses in the LIS program, i.e., Foundations of LIS, Research Methods, User & Access Services, Organization of Information, Management of Information Organizations, or Information Technology.
• Advise and mentor graduate students in the LIS program.
• Contribute to program, department, College, and University service.
