Import Export Specialist

Our client, a well-established chemical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Import / Export Specialist to join their growing logistics team. This position plays a key role in managing international shipments, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and coordinating with freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal departments to keep global operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import / export logistics, including ISF submissions, order processing, shipping, and documentation
• Prepare and review international shipping paperwork (invoices, packing slips, certificates of origin, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, international trade laws, and HazMat regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG)
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to schedule shipments, negotiate rates, and track deliveries
• Coordinate with internal teams in Purchasing, Customer Care, and Sales to provide status updates and resolve shipment issues
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and enhanced compliance across global operations
