Cashier

Maintain cash drawer, vends appropriate opening amount and validates deposits.

Assists team leaders and managers with customer inquiries.

Assists team leaders re-stocking, cleaning and maintaining the cafeteria.

Responsibilities

Recognizes that departmental success is measured against its capacity to provide sound customer service.

Shows respect and courtesy for all patients and customers by listening attentively to ideas and suggestions, showing concern for customer needs, directing customers to appropriate resources, assisting with problem resolution, and following up to ensure customer needs have been met.

Attends customer service training and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

Education / formal training / licensure / certifications / experience :

  • High School Diploma
  • One years' experience as a cashier

Additional Skills :

  • Proficient with a 10-key calculator
  • Computer literate.
  • Organized, mature decision-making skills
  • Able to work closely with other employees and with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential to job function.

    • Working Conditions :

  • Cafeteria environment.
  • Weekend, holiday, and / or rotating shifts.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Good visual and hearing acuity.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • The ability to handle stressful situations.
