Senior Quantity Surveyor

Currie & Brown is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Construction Quantity Surveyor for our client location in Manassas, Virginia. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will serve as the right-hand to the lead quantity surveyor, playing a key role in overseeing cost management, estimation, and procurement. These functions should be performed while ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the highest standards, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing, and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider. A comprehensive understanding of the United States construction market, particularly within the industrial and high-tech sectors, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation and Budgeting :

Prepare initial cost estimates based on project plans and specifications.

Draft, review, and manage construction contracts.

Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities and other pricing schedules.

Track and control construction costs throughout the project.

Conduct site visits and assessments to value completed work.

Assess the cost implications of changes in project scope or specifications.

Prepare final accounts and reconcile any discrepancies.

Provide regular cost reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and any variances from the budget.

Requirements

Qualifications & Education

Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
