Under the general direction of the Protocol Support Laboratory Supervisor, the Pharmacokinetic Technician (PK tech) 2 performs phlebotomy on patients enrolled in therapeutic clinical trials and other research studies. The employee contributes to the organizational planning of the Department's day-to-day operations. They ensure the quality of laboratory services and interactions with the patients, clinical coordinators, nurses, and health professionals, supporting the institutional philosophy. They are also responsible for performing complex biospecimen processing techniques following SOPs and sponsor-provided lab manuals, including those requiring sterile conditions per therapeutic clinical trials or other research project requirements. The PK tech 2 captures data related to laboratory biospecimen on paper and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) in compliance with regulatory guidelines and Good Clinical Practices. The PK tech 2 is responsible for performing maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies inventory as needed to maintain a College of American Pathologist (CAP) accredited laboratory. The PK tech 2 is responsible for communicating with Sponsors and CRO regarding queries and kit inventories. Estimated pay range for this position is $18.05 - $23.47 / hour depending on experience.
