Job Summary

The Director of Development, Academic Units will be responsible for cultivating relationships with donors and raising funds from individuals, corporations and foundations. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Advancement, the Director of Development will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, and management of a portfolio of 125-175+ prospects. In coordination with Advancement colleagues, the Director of Development will identify and pursue fundraising opportunities for their assigned academic units, manage volunteers, and act as a liaison between their assigned units and Advancement.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward fundraising prospects for assigned units, in collaboration with unit leadership and Advancement.
• Make and host personal visits with prospects to cultivate their interest in GGC and solicit financial support. A pace of 15-30 substantive interactions per month is expected.
• Create effective proposals for individual gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grants and other communications to prospects based on GGC priorities and prospect interest.
• Coordinate area-related advisory councils, societies or Boards of Visitors, as assigned. Manage volunteers and educate them in their role as volunteer fundraisers and advocates for GGC.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with leadership in assigned academic units. Act as their primary liaison with Advancement.
• File contact reports in the donor database and follow procedures for updating donor information and booking gifts into the system.
• Represent GGC and Advancement at local and business community meetings, events, etc. as assigned; work on assigned special projects and provide support at college events.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the college, its history, programs and funding priorities and be able to articulate the ¿GGC story¿ to prospects, donors and the greater community; other duties as assigned.

Proposed Salary

63,500 - 79,500

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
