Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, rotating Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med / Surg unit specializing in trauma and acute surgical care, requiring a valid NH or compact RN license and recent trauma center experience. Responsibilities Work in a 36-bed adult Med / Surg unit focused on trauma and acute care surgical patients Unit admits patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and major orthopedic injuries, as well as those recovering from surgeries such as hernia repair, bowel obstructions, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy Unit includes 2 negative pressure rooms for potential COVID cases Day shift RN patient ratio is 1 : 4; night shift is 1 : 5 LNA patient ratio is 1 : 12 High patient acuity with busy, rehabilitation-focused environment Care includes chest tubes, trachs / laryngectomies, lines, tubes / drains, and telemetry monitoring Drips administered include Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone RNs support rehabilitation and complex care of trauma and acute surgical patients Must be comfortable caring for COVID-positive patients when assigned to negative pressure rooms No requests for time off on 12 / 24 or 12 / 25 will be accepted Must maintain active license throughout the contract First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active NH RN license or compact RN license with proof of state residency Current BLS certification required Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in a comparable fast-paced Med / Surg unit Recent Level I or Level II Trauma center experience within the last 2 years Experience with chest tubes, telemetry, complex wounds, central line care and maintenance, and administering drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone No local candidates will be considered; must live at least 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614844.
