Responsibilities Work in the ICU of a hospital setting Primarily cares for neurological and multisystem organ dysfunction / failure patients Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 00) Expected to work 3–4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday night) Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1 to 1 : 2 Responsibilities include airway management, vented patient care, artline and central line management, management of IV drips, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, continuous IV sedation, titration of IV vasopressors, and isolation precautions Cares for patients post-fempops, CEAs, thoracic surgeries, craniotomies, and neurosurgeries Uses Epic for computerized documentation Floating to different units may be required Care for critically ill patients with neurological or multisystem conditions, including post-operative neurosurgical cases Responsibilities include managing ventilators, central and artline access, IV drips, sedation, and complex monitoring Annual and orientation modules are required and completed online First-time travelers are accepted for this position Return staff must wait at least 2 years before being eligible to travel again Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required A minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience and at least 1.5 years of recent ICU experience required Strong neuro ICU experience required Previous travel experience required Must submit 2 professional references for consideration Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler Experienced with Epic EMR Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622276.
