Tax Manager

Job Title : Tax Manager, CPA, JD or EA

Location : Pittsburgh, PA (hybrid flexibility)

Base Salary Range : $105k-$135k (DOE) + bonus + benefits

Position Overview

We are a Top 400 regional CPA firm based in Pittsburgh and have been in business for over 100 years. We have 75+ employees and were named "Best Place to Work" for multiple years including 2023 by the Pittsburgh Business Times. We have clients in various industries including Breweries, Construction, Energy, Healthcare, Investments Funds, Manufacturing, Distribution, Non-Profit, Professional Services, and more. Due to our growth we are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to come join our growing team.

Requirements include having an active CPA (or EA), 6+ years of Public accounting experience, at least 4 year of review experience, and having shown solid tenure in your last role. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the preparation of tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Review and approve tax filings and related documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering their professional development.
  • Conduct technical reviews of tax returns and other filings to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on tax matters.
  • Assist in business development efforts by identifying tax service opportunities for clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, JD, MBA or EA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
  • Experience in tax planning and compliance for various entities.
  • Strong understanding of tax software and technology.
  • Previous experience managing a team, mentoring staff, supervisory and mentoring skills.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively and develop new client relationships through networking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
