About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : 2+ years of current PICU experience; Critical care experience strongly encouraged

License : State License - Iowa

Certifications : PALS (AHA), BLS (AHA)

Must-Have : Must be willing to float to NICU when needed; EPIC EMR experience required

Description :

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills.

You will manage the care of patients through the application of the nursing process.

Floating to the NICU is required when necessary.

You may care for patients who are considered feeders and growers.

You will not be assigned the sickest or tiniest babies.

The unit features a 12-bed, all private-room facility staffed by pediatric critical care doctors.

You will provide care to critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens.

The Pediatric Transport Team provides children access to a higher level of care throughout the state.

The team is led by a pediatric nurse under the direction of pediatric critical care or pediatric emergency medicine physicians.

In March 2017, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit was opened to enhance care.

The new PICU includes 12 single patient rooms with ample storage and space.

Each room features a private bathroom and shower.

A family consultation room is available for healthcare teams to meet with families regarding care plans.

A family lounge with a kitchenette and comfortable seating allows family members a space to spend time outside patient rooms.

The unit is designed with state-of-the-art equipment for efficient patient monitoring.

A patient and family-centered environment is provided with pull-out beds, reclining chairs for families, privacy curtains, televisions, and individual sound systems.

Every other weekend and holiday rotation may be required if scheduled.
