SUMMARY :
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will work with the Shipping Supervisor to assist and handle products / materials both inbound and outbound of Exploring owned companies. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will ensure the receipt of shipments, quality inspect shipments, prepare items for shipping, load / unload trucks and assure materials have been handed off to the appropriate manager / leads within the building.

➢ Basic arithmetic ➢ A concrete and verifiable knowledge of shipping and / or logistics procedures
➢ Fast-paced packaging environment; must be able to work well under pressure and focus on work in the midst of noise
➢ Basic computer knowledge and skills
➢ Forklift Driver Certification

While performing the duties of the job, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk must be able to perform basic physical tasks in packaging, shipping, and receiving departments. Ability to communicate orally with shipping / logistics companies, coworkers, and other department managers is crucial.
Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the facility is required. Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common; must also be able to lift and move materials when necessary.
Occasional heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) may be required (for example, moving finished goods from inventory to shipping area). Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).
Work Environment :
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and / or standing and / or walking an average of eight (8) hours per day. The job is performed indoors in a traditional, temperature-controlled office setting and in a warehousing facility. Will divide time between sitting at a desk (while using a computer or other device) and moving about the shipping area and warehouse.
