Job Summary / Objective of Job
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring product validation of internally manufactured components and assemblies. This person will provide administrative support with processes and procedures, processing non-conforming materials reports, inspections of new materials, and will assist the shop floor quality concerns.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate all activities associated with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), including procedures and document creation / revision, internal quality audit, and management of the corrective / preventative action to ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote the company Quality Policy and the organization goals of the company.
- Conduct investigations / internal audits / root cause analyses of Quality incidents. Take appropriate corrective / preventative actions.
- Prepare reports and maintain documentation of audit results, reviewed at periodic intervals to track the progress after the audit.
- Calibration of standard quality equipment (ie. Calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc.)
- Identify areas for improvement and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Track monthly metrics generate from the QMS, including customer feedback, non-conformance metrics, audit metrics, etc.
- Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the quality & production team.
- Conduct routine quality inspections throughout the production or remanufacturing process, including in-process and final inspections.
- Perform process audits to assess product quality.
- Perform internal ISO 9001 audits and review findings with affected area.
- Initiate and monitor Corrective Actions, when necessary.
- Operations of materials handling equipment (ie. Forklift, electric and manual pallet jack)
- Maintain 5S in QC lab and workstation.
Qualifications :
High school diploma / GED2 years in manufacturing or remanufacturing environment.2 years in similar experience.Must have good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to be approachable and tactful.Good organization and planning skills.Demonstrated ability to maintain detail-oriented focus while balancing several simultaneous duties and initiatives.ISO 9001 : 2008 or ISO 9001 : 2015 certification required.ISO 9001 : 2008 or ISO 9001 : 2015 internal auditor certification required.Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.Must be able to work all shifts and / or flexible hours.High level of competence in the use of basic software programs (ie. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)Performance Metrics
