Distribution System Planning Engineer

We are seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Distribution System Planning Engineer to help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our electric distribution system. This role plays a key part in analyzing current system performance, forecasting future needs, and developing engineering solutions that support long-term growth and grid modernization.

Location :

Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office as duties require. While this position is designated as a hybrid role, based on current policy, hires must reside in or relocate within commuting distance to our office in Ramsey, MN.

Compensation :

The anticipated hiring range for this role is between $98,600 to $129,465 annually. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 8% of annual earnings based on company performance.

In this position you will :

• Perform or coordinate distribution engineering studies to ensure system capacity and asset health are adequate when considering future load growth and aging infrastructure.
• Review / produce designs of system replacement projects, plats, system improvements projects, automation, and road construction projects to ensure the projects are incorporated into the overall system plan.
• Recommend and document system improvements, replacements, and configuration changes for capital budgeting justification. Assist in scheduling and budgeting of capital projects.
• Act as a technical resource of the electrical distribution system.
• Provide a forward-looking viewpoint as projects are developed.
