job_description.job_card.job_descriptionDepartment of Public Safety Standard and Training (DPSST) Unarmed Security Officer training required within 30 days of hire. Valid Oregon State driver’s license Proof of auto insurance As a condition of employment and DPSST licensure, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; must provide high school diploma or GED for the DPSST licensure. Prior security, military, or police experience preferred Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat. Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time Ability to assist in lifting patients as needed either to assist nursing staff, law enforcement, etc.
Security Officer (Unarmed)
A hospital security officer is a trusted individual who will serve, protect, and care for our patients, visitors and personnel. Security officers will ultimately act as ambassadors of the hospital and provides security services in addition to exceptional customer service.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of / skill / ability to :
- Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional, effective manner
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Have intermediate computer skills to operate Windows, Excel, Word, cell phones, Access Control Systems, and CCTV systems
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently
