Job Summary :

The Fleet, Safety, and Workers' Compensation Coordinator is responsible for managing the company's vehicle fleet, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational safety, and overseeing workers’ compensation claims and prevention programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our storm shutter crews operate safely, efficiently, and within legal and insurance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities :

Fleet Management :

  • Manage and maintain the company’s fleet of vehicles (e.g., trucks, trailers, installation vans).
  • Schedule regular vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure DOT compliance, registrations, insurance, and driver records are up to date.
  • Monitor GPS tracking systems and driver behavior reports to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Assist with acquisition and disposal of vehicles as needed.
  • Coordinate with installers and technicians regarding vehicle needs and issues.

Safety Coordination :

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols and training programs specific to storm shutter installation and manufacturing.
  • Conduct regular job site and facility safety audits and inspections.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and conduct investigations of accidents or near-miss incidents.
  • Provide ongoing safety training and toolbox talks to field and warehouse personnel.
  • Maintain safety equipment inventory and ensure proper use.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
  • Workers’ Compensation :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation claims.
  • Report injuries, track claims, and coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Communicate with insurance providers, medical professionals, and employees regarding claim status.
  • Investigate workplace injuries and incidents to determine cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain records and documentation in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, safety, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in fleet management, safety coordination, or workers’ compensation administration (preferably in construction or manufacturing).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and workers’ comp regulations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct safety training and enforce safety rules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, etc.).
