About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Care Practitioner

Hours per Shift : 12 (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM)

Experience : 2 years of Critical Care experience, NICU experience preferred

License : Maryland Respiratory License

Certifications : NBRC-RRT, BLS via AHA

Must-Have : AA or BA in Respiratory Care from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program

Description :

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) will function and be trained and / or cross-trained in the appropriate departments : Inpatient and ER.

The RCP, functioning under medical direction, prescription, clinical pathway and / or protocol, is responsible for establishing and achieving therapeutic goals in the care of patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological, or other organ system dysfunctions.

This is accomplished through participation in formulating a patient care plan, through the appropriate collection of data, performing clinical assessments, diagnostic measurements and / or tests, applying therapeutic interventions, and making recommendations to other health team members.

The RCP will draw and analyze arterial blood gas measurements for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating pulmonary disorders.

They will treat inpatients and outpatients for a variety of pulmonary tests and prepare reports in preparation for physician interpretation.

The job duties include providing assessments and treatments of patients.

The RCP performs a wide variety of non-invasive cardiac and pulmonary tests.

Work frequently requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange work-related information.

Contact with external parties involves providing or obtaining factual information.
