Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests, respond to questions / concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviors, and circulate throughout the store.
• Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
• Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system; ensure proper bagging, receipts, and high-quality guest service.
• Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
• Promote GameStop's guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs.
• Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines.
• Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
• Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document performance in Workday / HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.
• Schedule store associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service.
• Approve payroll, manage PTO, and verify pay for time worked.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
• Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
• Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing; report concerns to the Store Manager.
• Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties.
• Conduct store inventory counts; stock and restock merchandise; ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
• Balance daily transactions, close out paperwork, and manage cash and bank deposits.
• Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate discrepancies to leadership.
• Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
• Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines.
• Maintain store records / files and keep manuals up to date.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager's absence.
• Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook; follow opening / closing procedures.
