Lockheed Martin, a leader in advancing secure communications and cutting-edge defense technology, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in either King of Prussia, PA or Colorado Springs, CO. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that protect and serve our nation's defense. This position is for one of the U.S. Space's newest SATCOM Mission. We are seeking a Deputy IPT lead to help lead a team of engineers including subcontractors to architect, design, and model the framework for a ground system.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding and integrating two subcontractors\' matured frameworks, ensuring seamless integration, and supporting the onboarding of other applications onto the framework. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the onboarding of other applications onto the framework
- Coordinate with subcontractors to update the framework roadmap, aligning with project timelines and objectives
- Supporting integration, testing, and deployment of the software releases
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including integration guides, test plans, and deployment procedures
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential integration risks, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the framework integration process
- Support functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software requirements
- Support test planning and execution activities for Customer defined system requirements
- Support customer demonstrations and integration events (some travel required)
- Provide EVM support to multiple control accounts
- Review of program engineering deliverables
- Provide interface support with external vendors
- Provide process improvements for software and systems engineering activities
Basic Qualifications
5+ Years of recent Systems Engineering and integration experiences commensurate with positionExperience in one or more of the following : DevSecOps, Service-Based architectures, Digital Engineering tools, modern programming languages (e.g., Cameo, Doors), etc.Knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle in an agile environment (design, development, testing, deployment and operations)Background in SW and systems integrationSecret clearance requiredDesired Skills
Experience as a Control Account ManagerExperience with Systems / Software architectureProven experience as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, customers, or partners, with a strong track record of building and maintaining effective relationshipsStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsAbility to support 10% travelBackground in protective communicationsCyber security methodologies and practicesExperience with Agile methodologiesKnowledge of cloud-based technologies and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes / Docker)Knowledge of web-based software application development and integrationExperience with model based system engineeringInterface Control Document (ICD) developmentTest planning and execution – especially automated integration testing and requirements verificationSystems thinking skills and behaviorsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools like JiraAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlinesSecurity Clearance
