GBS is seeking a Software Developer - Applications - SME focusing on designing, writing, testing, and maintaining code ensure functional and efficient system and database operations :

Job Functions

  • Develops new and maintain existing user interfaces.
  • Identifies the major components and interfaces of the system.
  • Maps and maintains traceability of the design to requirements.
  • Conducts design reviews to clarify design drivers.
  • Identifies and weigh portability considerations, potential capacity, and performance implications.
  • Creates the logical and physical database design for a system using data modeling and data normalization techniques
  • Identifies existing systems that may be reused.
  • Identifies any integration issues with legacy systems, and other pertinent design information.

Experience Requirements

  • Writing clean, efficient code based on specifications provided for government applications.
  • Thoroughly testing the applications to ensure they are bug-free and running smoothly and debugging any issues that arise.
  • Maintaining and upgrading the software to enhance functionality and security.
  • Working with Application Engineers and other IT professionals to ensure software meets all requirements and integrates well with other systems.
  • Creating detailed documentation to support the development and maintenance of the applications.

    • Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in programming languages.
  • Experience with front-end technologies.
  • Familiarity with back-end frameworks.
  • Knowledge of database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Proven experience in developing, testing, and debugging code.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot software issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder interaction.

    • Education / Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience developing software applications
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must be able to obtain a position of public trust with the US Government

    • A background check will be required.
