Job Overview : A qualified healthcare professional performs medical record abstraction in support of the annual Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) data collection. Responsibilities include interacting with provider offices, onsite or telephonically, to access medical records. The HEDIS Chart Abstractor should have basic clinical and healthcare knowledge, basic knowledge of NCQA HEDIS abstracting guidelines, and the ability to access medical records (electronic and paper). The Abstractor will identify required data, extract and organize this data, and enter it into a HEDIS software database.
