Asset Protection Specialist

Overview

The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store or stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance, and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store. They also prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, interact with law enforcement, and testify in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform duties in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They must demonstrate integrity at all times and support asset protection and operational responsibilities aligned with store objectives.

Responsibilities

• Identify incidents of theft and fraud and review CCTV and exception reports to minimize loss.
• Monitor the store\'s physical security and audit the Electronic Article Surveillance system.
• Drive a shrink-elimination culture within the store and support safety and environmental program compliance.
• Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence.
• Interact with law enforcement and testify in criminal and civil court actions as needed.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out duties to minimize risk of injury to all stakeholders.
• Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates.
• Remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting asset protection activities.
