Our client is currently hiring a Licensed Ammonia Seal Operator for their Cape May, NJ location in the Facilities / Maintenance department. The Ammonia Seal Operator will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation and maintenance of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems in accordance with state and federal regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and NJDEP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment (compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, etc.).
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to ensure system reliability and safety.
• Monitor system performance using SCADA / HMI and make adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) requirements.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of system operations, inspections, maintenance, and incidents.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration issues, alarms, and system faults.
• Assist in preparing for and responding to ammonia releases or other emergencies per facility SOPs.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and repairs.
• Support other facility operations, including HVAC, compressed air systems, and general plant utilities and operations.
