Overview
Sign On Bonus : $15,000 sign on bonus with relocation assistance. Location : Baylor Scott & White Lakeway Medical Center, Address : 100 Medical Parkway, Lakeway, TX 78738. Position : Multimodality Tech Professionals. Cross training into Cath and IR or at least one modality is required.
Credential : The multimodality position is geared towards individuals with additional certifications. Examples include ARRT (R) or RCIS with additional certifications such as CI, VI, CT, MRI, Mammo, or both RCIS and ARRT. RCES is an additional certification.
Education : Associate degree in Radiology + ARRT or graduate of a related program.
Work Schedule : Full-time day shift, Monday-Friday, 4 days / week 7am-5 : 30pm (4 x 10 hour days). Call : Little to no weekend call; about 7-9 days of call every 4 weeks for emergent procedures after hours. Call response time to the facility is within 30 minutes of notification. Very little call on weekends as there is a weekend tech who covers; one weekend per month off.
Job Summary
The Multimodality Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs imaging procedures in two or more disciplines with at least 25% focus in an advanced discipline (such as CT, MR, Nuclear Medicine or IR) on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Essential Functions
- Performs high quality multimodality procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner and maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
- Understands radiation dose reference levels, monitors dose, and takes appropriate actions if dose thresholds are exceeded, including patient follow-up when necessary.
- Demonstrates proper use of iSTAT point of care testing for obtaining creatinine levels.
- Uses AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam, and establish rapport; communicates clearly with patients and families about the test.
- Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning, immobilization, equipment setup, and applying appropriate exposure factors.
- Adheres to safety, infection-control, drug and radiation policies; uses sterile techniques for invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene.
- Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; coordinates with engineers / physicists to ensure optimal operation; assists in maintaining supplies inventory; screens individuals entering the department per policies.
- Obtains, verifies, and maintains relevant documentation (requisition / chart, patient history, pregnancy status, policies, procedures).
- Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems per department policies.
