Position description : Cruise Ops Account Manager
Reports to : Managing Director
Location : This role is based in Inwood NY 11096
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and facilitate all ocean freight export operational processes including, but not
limited to, carrier freight / drayage bookings, documentation, AES, preparation of warehouse
picking lists and the tracking of global shipments
Input accurate data and shipment details into the company's CRM platformConsults with clients by providing exceptional customer service pertaining to all logisticsneeds and freight movements
Takes initiative to strategically address / resolve all shipment / carrier delays, customs holds,documentation errors, revisions to carrier ETD / ETA schedules and other unexpected issues
that occur
Demonstrates the ability make executive operational decisions timely on a day-to-day basisCommunicates with customers, carriers and truckers on shipment status and / or delays bothverbally and via email when needed during in and non-office hours
Establishes and maintains relationships with all domestic carriers / vendors / foreign agentsCoordinates movement of freight for clients with internal departments & overseas agentswhen necessary to resolve issues expeditiously
Works to upsell current clients on additional value of Horizon's product and service offeringswhen the opportunity arises
Experience with vendor invoice review, auditing and billing reconciliationDiligently adheres to all internal operational procedures & policies, while taking initiative topresent process improvement initiatives to existing workflows
Other tasks as assignedThe Ideal Candidate
Minimum of 10+ years logistics experience in logisticsMust have knowledge of ocean export / import procedures including documentation andregulations
Experience with cruise logistics, specifically perishable shipmentsDemonstrates the ability to clearly articulate via both email and phone to multiple audiencesPays attention to detail, is proactive in preventing errors and avoiding penaltiesPossesses time management skills to work under pressure with tight deadlines; able to pivotwhen circumstances change, recover from setbacks and rise to new challenges.
Has good interpersonal skills and has a team mindsetComputer literate with experience with Word, Excel and PowerPointEducation
High School Graduate, college degree a plusIndustry certifications a plus (Hazmat certified)
