Construction Controller
We are seeking a Controller to lead financial operations across both corporate and project-level accounting. This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic growth initiatives, managing audits, and ensuring financial compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands-on accounting experience, leadership skills, and construction industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial operations for both corporate and project-level accounting.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and manage audits ensuring financial compliance.
- Prepare documentation and lead audit readiness twice annually.
- Directly manage accounting personnel with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure financial compliance with quarterly reporting tied to loan agreements.
- Handle payroll, ERP systems, multi-state tax preparation, and Excel data entry.
- Collaborate with ownership and leadership on strategic financial initiatives.
Essential Skills
Expertise in construction accounting, financial planning, and analysis.Strong leadership development and compliance skills.Experience with internal control and audit preparation.Proficiency with budgeting and forecasting for both project and corporate focus.Experience with Viewpoint and other ERP systems.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 23 years in a controller role within construction.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69 / hr.
