job_description.job_card.job_descriptionAssess merchant credit applications, validate supporting documentation, and analyze financial and credit data to determine risk levels Understand and apply credit / risk scales, bank policies, and compliance standards Understand risks associated with various business verticals and merchant business models Navigate multiple systems to status applications, update notes, and manage application workflows Obtain and evaluate credit ratings from bureaus, banks, and trades Collaborate with Risk Management to resolve application inquiries and periodic merchant account assessments as needed Support internal and external audit inquiries Suggest and implement process improvements contributing to greater efficiency Work accurately in a fast-paced environment to meet SLA requirements Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental operations WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (preferred) Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in high-risk credit underwriting, credit analysis in payments Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to interpret financial statements and credit reports Excellent rapport-building skills to establish and maintain strong working relationships across teams and reporting levels Flexibility to work overtime to meet business demands A collaborative, team-oriented attitude with a positive and proactive approach to work Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and drive results Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel LIFE AT KORT PAYMENTS We pride ourselves on cultivating an inspired culture characterized by customer-centricity, commitment, respect, and agility. LOCATION :
- California (hybrid role) EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Full-time, non-exempt SALARY RANGE : $28.85 - $31.25 per hour based on experience WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The Credit Analyst will assess the creditworthiness of prospective and existing merchants, analyze financial data, and mitigate risks to ensure compliance with our risk management policies.
