Physician Services Specialist, FT Days

The Physician Services Specialist provides high level administrative support and project coordination for Group Operations and Physician On-boarding. Maintains efficient departmental functions by working closely with both internal staff and management and external customers on issues of significant importance to the organization. The specialist utilizes on-boarding processes to assist with seamless integration of new provider groups that support the strategic goals of the organization. In addition, responsibilities include practice acquisitions, integration, practice development and orientation support for PIH Health Physicians.

PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network that serves approximately 3 million residents in the Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Gabriel Valley region. The fully integrated network is comprised of PIH Health Downey Hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Whittier Hospital, 37 outpatient medical office buildings, a multispecialty medical (physician) group, home healthcare services and hospice care, as well as heart, cancer, digestive health, orthopedics, women's health, urgent care and emergency services. Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Mail Merge
  • Minimum typing speed of 55 wpm.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete complex clerical and other assigned tasks in an independent manner
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple work assignments
  • Knowledge of practice management and electronic health records systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the organization
  • Knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques

Required Experience

Required :

  • Minimum three (3) years medical office experience and demonstrated knowledge of overall functions and operations in a medical office setting;
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of practice management systems and electronic health records systems experience
  • Preferred :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or other related field
  • Experience providing administrative support
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in computer business applications
  • Minimum Salary
