Position : Civil Estimator

Location : Gaithersburg, Maryland

Hours : Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established contractor specializing in site development and civil construction projects throughout the DMV area. Known for their integrity, technical expertise, and collaborative team culture, they offer a stable and rewarding work environment with long-term career potential.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Find and evaluate project opportunities
  • Perform plan and spec reviews
  • Conduct material take-offs and obtain pricing
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing
  • Prepare complete and accurate project estimates
  • Draft and submit proposals
  • Negotiate scope and contract terms with clients and subs
  • Support business development and maintain industry relationships (MSA, ABC, APSE)
  • Assist in developing and updating labor and equipment cost databases
  • Prepare submittals, budgets, and purchasing documentation
  • Set up awarded jobs and issue purchase orders
  • Create and manage change orders, including approvals and follow-ups
  • Collaborate with Superintendent to review and update monthly gross margin reports
  • Answer phones and perform general office duties as required

Requirements :

  • Proven experience in civil construction estimating
  • Strong knowledge of material and subcontractor pricing
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
  • Familiarity with cost tracking and project management tools
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Reliable transportation to job sites across the DMV area
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Compensation & Growth :

  • Base salary of $80,000 – $150,000, depending on experience
