Human Resource Supervisor - 67014905
This is a professional position in State Office Human Resources (HR) and is responsible for independently performing a variety of human resource duties. These duties require comprehensive knowledge of Agency policies, procedures, goals, and programs within the Agency relating to human resources. This position spends the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees' work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action, including all employees serving as supervisors, administrators, and directors.
The work you will do includes supervising and processing the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations. Providing guidance to employees and managers regarding payroll, attendance and leave, retirement, and benefits. Overseeing the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages, and resolving payroll discrepancies. Overseeing the administration of workers' compensation and leave programs, including FMLA, FSWP, and parental leave. Overseeing the employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to payroll, attendance, leave, and benefits, and maintaining accurate records for all HR functions. Maintaining payroll and benefits records and systems with strict confidentiality. Collaborating with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations. Preparing reports for audits, compliance, and internal analysis.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or its equivalent, and at least four years of experience in performing and / or managing human resources. College education may substitute for the required experience. Strong knowledge of payroll, retirement, and benefits platforms preferred. In-depth understanding of payroll and benefits compliance (Workers Compensation, Parental Leave, FMLA, etc.). High attention to detail, confidentiality, and excellent organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. A valid driver's license.
