Position Overview

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a dedicated, Board-Certified (or Board-Eligible) Family Medicine Physician to join our San Saba clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care in a rural setting while being part of an integrated healthcare system that prioritizes excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

About the Role

As a Family Medicine Physician at our San Saba clinic, you will :

  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals of all ages.
  • Manage chronic and acute conditions, preventive care, and health education.
  • Work alongside experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who have been instrumental in delivering care to the community.
  • Serve a diverse patient population, including migrant and farm workers, families, and individuals with limited access to specialists.
  • Coordinate care with regional specialists, with the nearest facilities being 1-2 hours away.
  • Engage in community outreach and mentorship opportunities.

This position requires a physician who is passionate about rural medicine and dedicated to becoming an integral part of the community.

    • Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full-spectrum family medicine services, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Supervise and collaborate with experienced NPs who manage a significant portion of patient care.
  • Navigate rural healthcare challenges, including specialist access and transportation limitations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community health programs.

    Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Licensed to practice in Texas by the Texas Medical Board
  • Board-certified or actively pursuing certification in Family Medicine (ABMS or BOS)
  • Spanish-speaking skills preferred but not required
  • Strong commitment to rural medicine and community engagement
