Responsibilities Work in a hospital cardiac medical-surgical unit Patient population includes post-operative day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients Night shift schedule : 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week Uses EPIC charting system Care provided to a Level 1 Trauma population Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac and post-surgical patients following unit standards Complete initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify patient care plans Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation for the healthcare team Conduct regular patient rounding and proactively support patients and families Support team development through constructive feedback and collaboration Maintain competency in unit and hospital policies and procedures No travel partners are accepted for this assignment Returning travelers may not exceed 1 year on continuous assignment and must take a 6-month break before returning Requested time off (RTO) may not exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract Requirements Active Illinois RN license or temporary permit in good standing Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience required; three years preferred Associate’s degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association Documented recent experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting Epic EMR experience required No local candidates within a 50-mile radius are eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-611571.
