Day to Day
We are seeking a mechanically inclined, hands-on technician to join our prototyping lab team focused on developing consumer products. This role supports the creation of small-scale prototypes, lab fixtures, and pilot samples of soap-based personal care products. The ideal candidate will work closely under an experienced lab specialist with a background in toolmaking and lab-scale processing, gaining exposure to both mechanical prototyping and formulation processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prototype Fabrication & Assembly; Build and assemble small prototypes using hand tools, lab equipment, and basic machining techniques.
- Clean and finish 3D printed parts (SLA and FDM).
- Machine small metal components for lab fixtures and test setups.
- 3D Printing; Operate, maintain, and optimize SLA and FDM 3D printers.
- Perform pre- and post-processing of printed parts.
- Assist in lab-scale processing of soap-based personal care products.
- Learn and support lab procedures under guidance of the senior specialist.
- Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
- Support CAD design tasks (SolidWorks preferred).
- Document procedures, maintenance logs, and prototype iterations.
- Communicate findings and progress to team members.
Must Have's :
2+ years' experience in a manufacturing assembly, lab, maintenance of molds, fixtures, or R&D for consumer packaged goods or similar.A minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing assembly, repair, maintenance of molds, fixtures, and assembly equipment.Familiarity with 3D printing technologies (SLA, FDM, etc.)Proficient operating mechanical machinery such as, molding small components, extrusion, drilling, grinding, and filing, with the ability to dissemble and assemble machines as needed.Ability to run concepts and trials of protypes and samples in a lab environmentFamiliarity modifying equipment for different quantities of material.Comfortable 5 days / week onsiteExcellent communication and professionalism.Plusses :
CAD design experience; SolidWorks or similar.Basic understanding of electro-mechanical systems.3D steel or plastic printing experience.Microsoft Office Suite.
