Senior Underwriting Assistant

Job Summary
This role is within Everest's Operations Department and could provide underwriting support for Wholesale Property of business.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To :
- Review and analyze incoming transactions and related information for completeness accuracy and quality.
- Understanding of policy lifecycle, new business submissions and mid-term endorsements processing including rating, policy construction and assembly in a timely and accurate manner.
- Regularly reviews and adheres to department processing guidelines and procedures to ensure accuracy including recommended changes / enhancements.
- Manage underwriting relationships with timely responses relative to service inquiries.
- Maintain all correspondence activity with internal and external customers including daily diaries on pending transactions.
- Ability to manage internal report updates based on manager discretion.
- Participates in peer review and quality control for team(s) as needed.
- Participate in projects across the Dept or Organization as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies :
Preferred experience in Commercial Property, plus if exposure to Manuscript Policies and Cat Modeling.Strong desk management, written and verbal communication skills.Strong comfort level with developing rapport with business partners, underwriters, agents and co-workers by phone, email or in person.Ability to prioritize competing demands and requests to complete work within required time constraints with a high volume of work.Demonstrate strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.Proficient knowledge of underwriting principles, product specific coverage, policy forms, pricing tools, regulatory compliance, and insurance systems.Proficiency in using online reference manuals and multiple electronic systems.The ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple deadlines with ease.Self-starter that is energized by independent learning and research.Demonstrate continuous improvement mindset, ability to independently solution.Review and provide feedback on quality review of other team members to management based on required checklist.Qualifications, Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.5+ years insurance experience, minimum 3 years in an Underwriting Assistant role.Proficient in MS Office, with exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel.Experience in insurance operations or related fields preferred.The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $82,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
