Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the Cardiac Stepdown Unit. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care while managing staff, driving performance improvement initiatives, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. The Nurse Manager fosters a supportive, collaborative environment and provides 24 / 7 accountability for the unit.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver goal-directed nursing care through evidence-based practices.
Manage, mentor, and develop unit staff, promoting professional growth.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Oversee unit budgets and maintain operating expenses within targets.
Engage in patient, physician, and employee satisfaction initiatives.
Foster interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Lead process improvements and maintain regulatory compliance.
Promote a culture of safety and patient-centered care via education and performance reviews.
Qualifications
Experience : 2+ years recent acute care leadership in critical care or cardiac stepdown. Magnet or Pathways facility experience preferred.
Education : BSN required; MSN or Master’s in a related field preferred.
Licensure / Certifications :
Texas RN license or compact license accepted
National Specialty Certification (or plan to achieve within 1 year)
BLS and ACLS required
