Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) Telemetry position, requiring a MD or Compact RN license and recent Epic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Float Pool covering both Med / Surg Telemetry and IMC units in a hospital setting
  • Patient ratios range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6
  • Cares for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma cases
  • Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
  • Floating between Med / Surg and IMC units is required
  • Epic EMR experience is mandatory
  • Daily responsibilities include managing complex acute and chronic patient conditions in a high-acuity environment
  • Modules completed during orientation and annually, varying by specialty
  • Modules are recorded through the Relias / Net Learning portal
  • Flu shot and 2-step PPD testing are strictly required with no exceptions
  • Two professional references are required for consideration
  • All required modules must be completed as part of orientation

    • Requirements

  • Active MD or compact state RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
  • At least 2 years of Telemetry experience
  • At least 2 years of prior experience on an IMC unit in a hospital setting
  • Recent Med / Surg Telemetry hospital experience is required
  • Experience with Epic EMR is mandatory
  • Annual flu shot and a 2-step PPD test are required
