This is a specialist role in the laboratory environment, responsible for performing various testing procedures and maintaining laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and be able to work accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities : Perform routine and complex laboratory tests including specimen processing and handling, testing of patient specimens, calculation and reporting of results.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment, making minor repairs as necessary.
Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed to ensure optimal workflow.
Ensure adherence to quality control programs and policies.
Calculate, enter and verify test results using the Laboratory Information System.
Provide critical laboratory value notifications and documentation.
Process patient specimens with consideration for minimal pediatric volumes when required.
Requirements and Qualifications : Demonstrate competence in assigned patient care responsibilities, adhering to population-specific needs.
Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols.
