Manager Film Production Security at Sphere Entertainment Co.
Role overview and responsibilities are described below. This is a security leadership role focused on protecting Sphere Studios Production Security operations and supporting the broader Sphere Studios and Sphere Threat Management teams.
Overview
The role oversees Sphere Studios Production Security; provides operational support to Production Security teams across Sphere Studios Production Business Units; maintains relationships with the U.S. Department of State and federal law enforcement agencies. In collaboration with Sphere Threat Management and Sphere Studios, the role creates and enforces security protocols, monitors the set environment, prepares and conducts Country safety briefings, and responds promptly to security incidents. The position supports maintaining a discreet presence that enables creative work without interruption and reports to the Director, Security Operations.
What will you do?
- Develop and maintain best practices to securely protect production assets and personnel globally. Track and monitor productions globally to ensure effective communication procedures pass emergency information to production management and Sphere leadership as needed.
- Assist with collecting threat and location-specific intelligence affecting Sphere Studios productions and events and present findings to Sphere Studios executive and production management.
- Work closely with Sphere Studios production teams, conducting pre-production location risk assessments, identifying potential security and safety threats, and balancing risks in dynamic environments to keep productions safe and on schedule.
- Assist production management with the development of Emergency Action Plans.
- Build and advance relationships with contacts at the U.S. Department of State, other U.S. Federal law enforcement agencies, and other countries’ security services.
- Remain vigilant and proactive, responding immediately to security breaches or emergencies, including medical incidents, property damage, or public disturbances.
- Complete incident reports with detailed documentation for record-keeping and post-event reviews.
- Assist in information gathering procedures to collect, analyze, and prepare information that may pose a threat to Sphere Entertainment interests globally.
- Assist with maintaining security services and emergency response in Sphere Studios Burbank.
- Stay current on emergency management, business continuity planning, and GSOC operations to support policy development or revisions.
- Identify and submit Capital security improvement projects as needed.
- Be prepared for frequent travel and extended hours, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as filming schedules require.

Experience : Minimum of 5-8 years in security, with a background in film, television, event security, or law enforcement preferred. Supervisory experience is required.Training : Knowledge of emergency response procedures; CPR / First Aid certification preferred.Communication : Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a calm and authoritative demeanor.Flexibility : Willingness to adapt to different filming environments and variable hours.Physical Readiness : Ability to perform essential physical tasks and respond quickly to emergencies.Discretion & Confidentiality : Respect for the sensitive nature of Sphere Studios’ projects, talent, and crew.Problem Solving : Ability to make quick, effective decisions during incidents.Professionalism : Maintain high conduct standards and ensure a secure on-set environment.Special Requirements
Travel up to 75% of the time; short-notice travel may be required.Willingness to travel to locations as needed by Sphere Threat Management and Sphere Studios.Flexible and adaptive to meet company needs; may involve evenings / weekends / holidays.Compensation
Pay Range : $83,000—$130,000 USD
