Description
The Project Manager, Applications Engineering will manage projects that support highly engineered machines with supplier products and process activities in line with the current Okuma corporate business model.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Clearly and methodically organize business needs into applications engineering projects and build detailed engineering projects plans by :
Planning : Define and clarify project scope
- Develop the project plan
- Develop the project schedule
- Develop policies and procedures to support the achievement / success of the project objectives
Organizing : Determine the organizational structure of the project team
Identify roles and positionsIdentify services to be provided by external companiesDefine staff to support the project objectives / scopeLeading : Setting team direction
Coordinating activities across different organizational functionsMotivating team membersAssigning workControlling : Defining project baselines
Tracking project progressProject status reportingDetermining and taking corrective actionsEngage in advanced product development activities
Travel as needed to support project activity / approvals / milestones
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering - preferredCertifications : CMfgE or CMfgT, Project Management Professional (PMP) – preferred but not requiredMinimum of 10 years of Machine Tool applications experienceFamiliar with the type of components being machined / processed in various industries - Oil / Energy, Aerospace, Construction, Fluids And or Medical.Familiarity with modern CNC machines and controls (preferably Okuma)Familiarity with modern cutting tools, a wide range of manual and hydraulic work holding, robotic systems and automation, as well as SPC.CAD, CAM knowledgeKnowledge of Manufacturing processes and design; all aspects of workholding and cutting tools, material science engineering, machine design; control systems and automation; advanced concepts and principlesBusiness management knowledgeProject / Program Management training and skillsetExcellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple processes and priorities effectively.
