Overview

Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Billerica, MA

We're hiring a hands-on Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support design / build projects in chemical process, life sciences, and environmental industries. If you're motivated, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced environments — this is your chance to work on breakthrough technologies from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Design & specify instrumentation and control systems
  • Develop I / O lists, loop diagrams, and control panel layouts
  • Select and specify sensors, transmitters, PLCs, and more
  • Support equipment procurement & vendor coordination
  • Assist with system commissioning & onsite troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in instrumentation or controls
  • Familiarity with DCS / PLC systems and field signal types
  • Understanding of UL-508A and hazardous area standards
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Procore, BlueBeam, and smart P&IDs
