Base pay range
$35.00 / hr - $38.00 / hr
Responsibilities
- Fully support all IES and Site / Customer safety policies, procedures and programs and Federal and State Standards; ensure implementation and compliance within the Communications Division and Site / Customer Site Specific Policies, Procedures and Programs.
- Perform safety presentations and develop safety presentations and related training as required.
- Schedule and perform documented jobsite safety audits / inspections to determine compliance with safety policies, procedures and programs and applicable safety standards.
- Oversee and maintain activities involving confined space entry, including documentation and training requirements.
- Conduct or direct activities aimed at identifying potential hazards and develop safety action plans to correct non-compliance issues; work with operations and management for implementation.
- Develop processes and plans to reduce or eliminate hazards and safety incidents.
- Deliver safety new employee orientation (NEO), OSHA 10 / 30 hour and other required training.
- Deliver and coordinate safety training for management and field personnel on accident prevention techniques and safety standards.
- Prepare written reports and summaries regarding safety audits, investigations and issues.
- Conduct and coordinate root cause investigations on recordable incidents, near misses and vehicle incidents; implement corrective actions.
- Participate in OSHA inspection processes as defined in the Safety Manual and communicate with project stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain safety-related records and reports.
- Teach, counsel and mentor stakeholders to uphold the IES Safety Culture; coordinate activities with site management.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Must be self-motivated, professional, and capable of leading others to implement project process improvements.Must promote company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.Must act as liaison with customer, vendor, contractor, and IES representatives.Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to read, write and present effectively.Ability to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.Ability to perform inspection functions including walking, climbing, bending, lifting, and manual dexterity; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to learn company and customer computer systems.Regular and reliable job attendance required.Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements
High School diploma or GED; Associate degree or higher preferred.EMT or higher credentials preferred.Minimum of five (5) years' experience in construction safety, preferably in telecommunications or electrical industry.Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.Knowledge and experience with Confined Space Entry Standards 1926.1200 Subpart AA preferred.Current status as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer.CHST (Construction Health / Safety Technician) Certification or equivalent preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; able to communicate effectively with project stakeholders.Ability to respond to safety emergencies with or without notice.Must meet company minimum driving standards.Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects simultaneously.Employment Type
