Provide technical support to engineers for design and construction, and support the Utility Notification Center for Colorado Senate Bill 167 Program. Use utility locating equipment, engineering plan drawings, and field evidence to mark utilities in the field. Represents the organization on utility location matters. Salary Range : $71,043.00 - $100,348.50 Annual

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets engineering plans showing utility locations. Uses utility locating equipment to uncover evidence of underground utilities and survey equipment to document horizontal and vertical location of utilities.
  • Drives to various field locations within the approximately 2400 square miles of the district, and marks utility locations on the ground.
  • Uses computer based system to receive and close tickets for locations that need to be marked with the organization's utilities.
  • Meets with and communicates with contractors to confirm plans, schedules, and technical details and returns emails and phone calls in timely manner.
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, field logs, reports, and record drawings.

  • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of technical school, or two years of college towards a Bachelor of Science degree, or related technical training (e.g., military / trade school) preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a technical trade preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • The ability to read and understand engineering plans.
  • Proficient with survey and locating equipment and safe construction methods and field practices.
  • Valid driver's license with good / safe driving record.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.

    Payment Range

    $71,043.00 - $100,348.50 Annual
