General Manager

Veloet Cannabis is looking for a General Manager to manage our flagship location in Martinez. This is a significant opportunity for a proven retail leader to help us continue to grow our brand as we build on our success and focus on delivering the best retail cannabis experience in California.

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all dispensary operations and works closely with Velvet leadership to provide direction and leadership towards our mission, strategy, goals, and objectives. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a general manager, excellent people development skills, a genuine passion for the cannabis industry and a commitment to building a world class retail experience.

Responsibilities :

• Ensures the store’s environment and customer experience reflect Velvet’s vision and values.
• Provides strategic direction and leadership to the retail organization by leveraging market and customer insights while anticipating future needs driven by sales and growth.
• Maintains a strong presence on the sales floor to coach, provide feedback, and support the retail team, fostering growth and development.
• Drives retail productivity, sales, and profit by improving efficiency, enhancing the customer experience, and continuously refining operational standards and processes.
• Works closely with the marketing and social media team to communicate store brand presence, incentives, events, and product offerings.
• Analyzes KPIs, trends, and opportunities to recommend process and procedure improvements that strengthen operations and support sales goals.
• Proactively collects customer feedback and uses it to implement new product offerings.
• Analyzes P&L reports to make informed decisions that drive operational and financial improvements.
• Stays up to date on changing trends and current market demand for product offerings, ensuring dispensary teams are ready to deliver on our customer’s needs.
• Leads by example creating a personal, customer focused, and service-oriented approach to service.
• Ensures the dispensary and team comply with company policies and state regulations across all operations, processes, inventory management, and protocols.
• Develops and delivers training to reinforce service, product, operational, and management expectations while coaching and supporting the Velvet team’s growth.
• Maintains a presence in the California cannabis industry networking events and trade associations.
• Ensures operational priorities, processes and procedures are communicated, understood and consistently followed and executed.
• Manages staffing levels and headcount to ensure productivity and profitability of the store.
