As a prep cook at The Horton Grand Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes in accordance with our recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized environment and supporting the kitchen staff in various tasks. This part-time position requires a commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a passion for cooking.

We're looking for a PREP cook to join our amazing team! This is a PM, part-time shift.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including washing, peeling, cutting and measuring.
  • Read thoroughly and follow recipes accurately to prepare menu items.
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored, labeled and FIFO is properly used in accordance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen including workstations, equipment and storage areas.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in inventory management and notify the Chef of any shortages or quality issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or General Manager.

Requirements :

  • Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook is preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently without supervision.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
