Academic Affairs Administrative Coordinator

Midland University, a small private liberal arts school in Fremont, NE is seeking an Academic Affairs Administrative Coordinator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and wants to play a key role in supporting faculty, students, and campus-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Be the go-to resource for Academic Affairs

  • Provide direct administrative support to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO); assist directors and deans as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for faculty, students, staff, and other stakeholders seeking help or information.
  • Maintain a current and accurate repository of academic policies, forms, and resources.
  • Manage travel arrangements, schedules, and budget lines for Academic Affairs staff and job candidates.
  • Oversee communication with the online bookstore.

Lead and coordinate signature events

  • Chair planning committees and bring events like Commencement, Student Awards, and New Faculty Orientation to life.
  • Coordinate logistics-food, space, set-up, and schedules-for faculty and Academic Affairs events.
  • Support faculty hiring and onboarding

  • Partner with HR to create and maintain faculty files.
  • Collaborate with deans and the Chief Academic Officer to write and process adjunct contracts.
  • Communicate with job candidates and help them navigate the hiring process.
  • Track Academic Affairs employees in HR systems to keep records up to date.
  • Collaborate with the Registrar's Office

  • Work closely with deans to build and update term schedules, assign classrooms, and maintain course details in Anthology.
  • Support transcript review and other cyclical academic processes.

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
