Velocity Rail Solutions has been a trusted provider of locomotive fueling services since 1996. We operate under long-term contracts with Class I Railroads, delivering consistent, year-round service using specialized equipment.

This Hamlet-based position offers a home daily schedule, reliable weekly pay with a set night shift schedule, automatic equipment, and guaranteed overtime.

Position Highlights

  • Location : Hamlet, NC
  • Annual Earnings : $75,460+
  • Weekly Pay :

$1,540 / week for guaranteed 60-hour workweeks (includes time and a half after 40 hours)

  • $1,144 / week for 48-hour workweeks every third week
  • Paid Weekly

    • Schedule

  • Night Shift : 5 : 00 PM – 5 : 00 AM
  • 60-Hour Weeks : Wednesday–Sunday (Monday & Tuesday off)
  • 48-Hour Weeks (every third week) : Thursday–Sunday (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday off)
  • Consistent rotating 3-week schedule
  • Home Daily

    • Locomotive Fuel & Service Key Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times; empowered to STOP work due to unsafe conditions
  • Follow procedures for loading / unloading sand, water, lube oil, and waste
  • Safely fuel locomotives on-call using precise procedures
  • Respond promptly to customer dispatches (24 / 7 / 365 availability)
  • Complete accurate fuel and service paperwork within timelines
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle / equipment inspections
  • Follow all customer safety rules and regulations
  • Report spills / incidents immediately
  • Assist with light maintenance and upkeep of vehicles / equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company-provided spaces
  • Keep all training, licenses, and certifications current
  • Demonstrate reliability, safety, and teamwork

    • Qualifications

  • CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
  • Tractor-trailer driving experience required
  • Must pass all background checks required by the company, customer, and government
  • Responsible for maintaining all required licenses and certifications
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
  • Moderate computer skills required

    • Physical Requirements

  • Able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb on / off elevated surfaces
  • May need to walk long distances on paved or uneven surfaces
  • Able to climb in / out of truck cab and up locomotive steps multiple times per shift
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willing to work with liquid non-hazardous materials
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
